Hannelies Koloska holds a PhD in Arabic Studies from the Free University of Berlin (2012) and is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Comparative Religion at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and VISONIS’s Principal Investigator. Her research deals with the literary and historical-critical study of the Qur’an in its late antique context, material culture in the Qur’an, modern Islamic scriptural interpretation and questions of religious authority and subversion in legal and theological thought.
